Winter Concert Volunteers 2025

We are looking for volunteers to come and work during our Winter concerts on December 10 & 11, 2025. Report time is 6:00 PM with the students.  Parents will not be seated for the concert until 6:30 PM. Volunteers can be from Orchestra so that Band parents can enjoy the show. 

We are also open to having older students looking to get NJHS, NHS, BSA, or any other community group service hours.  If a student needs hours signed off on, please present a form to the Director or the SPMS Music Booster President at the concert for signature.

ORCHESTRA WINTER CONCERT

Orchestra Stage Crew
Volunteers follow stage/seating layouts provided by the Director to ensure the chairs and music stands are set according to each performing group. Students needing NJHS or other community group service hours may submit to the Director or SPMS Music Booster President for signature if volunteering.

Greeters
Volunteers set up VIP seating signs in the front row and assist attending families with finding seats, scanning program QR codes, providing information for the concert, etc...

Tuning Helper
Volunteers have experience in tuning string instruments and assist in helping students get tuned prior to each groups performance.

Uniform Squad
Volunteers assist Ms. Etheredge as students arrive making sure all parts of the uniform are present and fit correctly. Cummerbunds should "catch the crumbs" meaning pleats face up and are strung through belt loops on pants to keep them in place. Bow ties are fit correctly under the wing tip tuxedo collar and secured through the string on the back of the neck. Tuxedo Shirts are worn and tucked correctly and all black studs are visible instead of the white buttons. Make sure students are wearing tall black socks (above the ankle) or stockings, all black dress shoes (no Crocs, tennis shoes, open-toed shoes, etc...) and all black pants or floor length black skirt (no slit).

Photographer/Videographer
Volunteer would have a set place in the audience to set-up and take photos and/or videos from. All photos and videos will be uploaded to the SPMS Music Boosters Google Share Drive. Photos will be given to the the Yearbook team and some printed for display in the trophy case in the main SPMS entry hallway.

Volunteers stay with the students throughout the concert, keeping those not on stage quiet, making sure phones are not in use, instruments are not being played or destroyed, etc...

Audio Person
Volunteer would test on stage microphone to ensure it is working prior to the concert and help ensure all performing groups have mics and audio equipment as needed. Very important to help Mr. Latone get Jazz Ensemble set-up prior to the concert.
